Katey (Kat) Thiry, a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), completed her master’s degree while working as a full-time employee and mother in August of 2023 from Wilkes University. After finishing her nursing diploma in 2014, then her bachelor’s degree in 2017, Kat worked in a variety of settings. Gaining invaluable experience, Kat has a background in abdominal transplant, emergency medicine, substance use and mental health. Kat recently started with PsyCare in January of 2024 as a new provider. Due to both personal and professional reasons, Kat has had the opportunity to gain a better understanding of mental health and wellness. Therefore, it is Kat’s desire to serve others who continue to experience mental, emotional, and behavioral dysfunction. By using a holistic approach, Kat works to help provide a safe environment where the healing process can begin. Kat is currently being trained in providing TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) and Spravato. Kat’s hours are Monday and Tuesday 8-5pm, Wednesday and Thursday 8-4pm and Friday 8-2pm.
